Stellar Lumens (XLM) Listing on Coinbase Pro

Coinbase Pro has listed Stellar Lumens (XLM) to its advanced trading platform. The move follows the exchange’s full listing of Ripple’s XRP on Coinbase.com.

Beginning Mar. 13th, 13:00 PT, Coinbase will begin accepting inbound transfers of XLM to Coinbase Pro. Deposits will be available approximately 12 hours prior to full trading.

Once a sufficient supply of XLM is deposited on the platform, trading pairs include XLM/USD, XLM/EUR, and XLM/BTC will become available. As with prior listings, order books will start in phases to ensure that a “healthy market” is met before full trading begins.

XLM will be supported by the exchange in places where Coinbase is available, except for New York State where there are additional regulatory requirements.

Jed McCaleb, founder of Mt. Gox and co-founder of Ripple, created Stellar Lumens as an open-source cryptocurrency that borrowed elements from Ripple’s XRP after a schism with the company. Similar to XRP, Stellar aims to “unite the world’s financial infrastructure so that money can flow quickly and cheaply between banks, businesses, and people.”
